What is the Good Friday Service of Darkness? Pastor Bill tells the story of the life of Jesus until His burial. As he tells the story beginning at Jesus' birth (which is signified by the first of many candles on a table on stage being lit), a candle is lit to represent people who come into his life. The lights in the sanctuary are also out. The only source of light in the room is from the candles. As people abandon Jesus during the last week or so of His life, the candles are put out leaving the one candle left. It is then doused when Jesus dies on the cross.
