The Prayer
Do you recognize these things in your life? Do you want to do
something about it? 2 Corinthians 6:2 says "Behold, now
is the appointed time; behold, now is the day of salvation".
There really is no time like the present. The first step in doing
something about it is to simply come to God in prayer. Admit
to Him that you are a sinner, that you need Jesus to save you
from your sins. Tell God that you want to turn away from the
direction you have been going, and come to Jesus. There is no
magic formula, simply talk to God. If you aren't sure what to
say, here is a suggested prayer:
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner
and I am sorry for my sin. I thank you for dying on the cross
for me. I turn from my sin and I turn to you by faith right now.
Forgive me for all of it. Fill me with the power of your Holy
Spirit. I want to be Your disciple. Help me to follow You from
this time forward. Thank You for Your offer of forgiveness. I
gladly accept it now. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
If you have just prayed that
prayer, you are saved! You have not only been forgiven of your
sins, but you have new life in Jesus. Go and tell someone about
it. We would love to know about it here at Crossroads. Call Pastor
Scott O'Haver at Crossroads, (360) 256-9711, or you can send
Pastor Scott an e-mail.
He will be happy to talk with you about the decision you have
just made. If you live in the Vancouver/Portland area, we would
like to come alongside you to help you start growing in your
new faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. If you do not live in our
area, we will help you find a good, healthy church to plug into
that is close to you, a place where you can grow in Christ. Here
is a list
of Calvary Chapel churches across the country and internationally.
