Our church is a worshiping church. What does this mean? Well, it means much more than music. The best way to describe it is taken from Romans 12, in The Message. It says, "So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: take your everyday, ordinary life - your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life - and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for Him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what He wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you."At Crossroads, music is one of the ways we encourage a life of worship – a life that brings glory to God and draws nearer and nearer to Jesus. When our community gathers and sings songs to God and about God, we experience His amazing presence and hear His voice. Our worship helps us express who God is, sing our prayers, celebrate His greatness, thank Him, and encourage each other with His truth.
The worship songs we sing are contemporary in style, but range from ancient hymns to the latest choruses, and everything in between. We believe that worship is an expression of the gathered community, not a performance of a chosen few on stage, and to that end our worship team is committed to the mission of our church: helping others to KNOW Jesus, GROW in His life, and SHOW His love to each other and the city we live in.
