O.A.S.I.S. is Older Adults Sharing in Service. Seniors are a valuable part of our church body, and as a result we have a vital ministry just for this age group. At OASIS, we enjoy sharing together, serving one another, enriching the spiritual lives of other seniors, and demonstrating God's work in our lives to younger generations. We look for ministry opportunities not only within our fellowship but also in our community.

Spiritual Growth: How Do We Grow in the Lord?
OASIS is divided into three categories: serving others, spiritual growth and social activities. We serve together, pray together, and fellowship together.

Serving Others:
Some of our ministry opportunities include: being an adoptive grandparent to children of single parents, tutoring children who need help with their school work, and offering wisdom and companionship to bereaved families and families in crisis. We also volunteer mission outreaches, construction, and helping alongside the church staff. As we give ourselves away in ministry, God is glorified and everyone involved is greatly blessed.

Spiritual Growth:
We grow as we are with other seniors who are serving God. By meeting together on a regular basis and sharing what we have learned from God's Word, we strengthen and encourage each other, and we find it a joy to pray and fellowship with each other. We encourage each other to grow in our understanding of the Bible, and we learn how to apply God's principles to our lives as seniors. We contine to encourage each other to serve God with the gifts and talents He has given us.

Social Activities: How Do We Fellowship?
Fellowship is not limited to church services or monthly meetings. We also meet together for picnics, day trips, seminars and other fun and exciting activities. We often come together for a buffet followed by a special activity. Activities have included an Old Fashioned Hymn Sing, table games, or just sitting around sharing in conversation over coffee and cookies. We have toured a woolen factory, enjoyed a luncheon cruise, visited Mount St. Helens, visited the Japanese Gardens in Portland, and many other educational and interesting places. These times of fun and fellowship have given us a positive and enjoyable way of getting to know each other, as well as encouraging each other to live a Godly life.

During these times of serving, sharing and fellowshipping, we discover opportunities to be significant and useful contributors to the Lord's work. Come and join us as we serve the Lord with gladness. You'll be glad you did!
