What is Missions?

From Genesis through Revelation, scripture presents the heartbeat of God—world missions. As fully devoted followers of Christ, missions isn’t just something we do, it is who we are… it is a lifestyle. At Crossroads, we build relationships by impacting people, serve others by committing our time, and transform lives by showing God’s love.

It is doing everyday acts to meet the needs of people around us and around the world. It isn’t a function of time, money or geography… it is simply being an everyday missionary offering of help and hope.

"The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed..." - Luke 4:18

What Does This Mean to Me?

We believe that each one of us has the calling to be “mission-minded.” This means being open to opportunities to show Christ’s love to those you interact with in your daily life. This is literally just reaching out to people… seeing a need and meeting it. It can be an act of kindness, such as mowing an elderly person’s lawn. It can be babysitting for a single mom, so she can have a night off. It can be repairing someone’s home or car who wouldn’t otherwise be able to have it done. It can be more involved, but basically it is being an everyday missionary.

Areas of Opportunity

Second Saturday – Our monthly community outreach, which is a tangible example of Christ’s love to our local community through acts of kindness and service.

Short-term mission teams – With a range of opportunities for youth and adults, our short-term mission teams go all over the globe to partner with local missionaries and pastors while evangelizing for Christ.

Missionaries - Crossroads supports missionaries and interns around the world

Get Involved. . .

  • Pray - Pray for the mission teams, pray for the people who will be served, pray for the missionaries we’ll be serving alongside, and pray for God to change and transform lives.

  • Give - Give to Crossroads over and above your tithe. Make a commitment to give something each month to be used for mission project materials (construction materials and supplies) along with missionary support.

  • Missions Prayer Meeting - Join with others in bringing our Missions Ministry before the Lord every fourth Wednesday evening of the month at 7:00 pm.  Joanne Kendall hosts these meetings in her home. Please call the Church Office for more information at 360.256.9711.
