Activating: Stimulating God’s new life through relationships
- Small Groups: New life is activated in relationship. Small groups are basic to knowing others, and being known by them.
- Social events: Joy is basic to new life. We get together regularly to enjoy life with one another through front-door events designed to invite friends and neighbors, or participating in Do-life Groups specifically oriented to nxtSTP-ers.
- Trips: Travel affords the opportunity to engage others more deeply. Traveling and adventures with one another inside nxtSTP is bonding. Combining travel with education and outreach adds other dimensions.
Developing: Strengthening God’s new life through education and encouragement
- The Gathering: We gather together the first Sunday evening of each month to learn about issues we all face and enjoy fellowship together.
- The Workshops: We have various workshops throughout the year dealing with specific needs, like grandparents raising grandchildren, the financial challenges of the “new” retirement, etc.
- The Stories: We have an active, dedicated website allowing us to keep in touch with all the things going on among us. Through stories and photography, we learn more about one another, and are stimulated in our own spiritual growth. (Clink on the link above to check out the nxtSTP website.)
- The Resources: We will soon have a web-based source for educational and local support referrals that enhance God’s new life in our nxtSTP journey
Applying: Putting God’s new life to work in the community and beyond
- E-prayer: An active, ongoing listing of prayer needs of those who are part of nxtSTP.
- Care Teams: Teams of nxtSTP people who meet the needs of those in crisis, those needing assistance in a challenging time in life, or those needing help accessing resources in the community to assist them.
- Gifts at work: Everybody serves somewhere. Whether in a Sunday School classroom, fixing a car for a single mom, or mentoring a couple needing help in marriage, God has a special job for everyone.
- Cross-generational mentoring: We have been called to leave a legacy. The wisdom that comes only with maturity and years is shared through intentional mentoring relationships, as well as through various mentoring events and opportunities open for larger audiences.
