Pastor Bill Ritchie was born in Salem, Oregon, where he lived until his graduation from Willamette University. He then moved to Claremont, California, where he did his graduate work at the School of Theology at Claremont, earning his doctorate in Theology and Ethics. Upon completion of his formal education, Bill pastored a few Methodist churches in Washington until 1975 when God put a strong desire in his heart to plant Crossroads Community Church, a non-denominational ministry, in Vancouver, Washington.
Crossroads had a dramatic beginning, with 350 people attending the first service in a high school cafeteria. In 1977, the church became affiliated with the Calvary Chapel movement. In the years since then, Crossroads has grown to over 6,000 people with outreaches in a number of countries in the world. Bill gives the credit to God alone for His miraculous work in the ministry at Crossroads.
The foundation of Crossroads Community Church is the Word of God, worship, discipleship, and evangelistic outreach. These values permeate every ministry that springs forth from the church. Pastor Bill's gift for expository teaching helps to equip the people at Crossroads to do the work of ministry, and lay people are heavily invested in the ministry at Crossroads. You will enjoy hearing Pastor Bill as he encourages you from God's Word!
