With Love From Kenya

Written by Ronda Hilman.

Jambo,

It is hard to believe that we left three weeks ago...time sure flies! We have not moved into our house because we are waiting for the power to be connected. It has been okay because we are comfortable here at the University and have everything we need. Last week, we were able to buy our appliances and foam mattresses for the beds. Eloy was able to experience downtown Nairobi for the first time, a chaotic sea of vehicles and people, he was thankful that we didn't settle there!

Gleanings from the Life of Abraham

Written by Pastor Daniel Fusco.

For those of you who frequent our Thursday night study, our new series called Patriarchs is in full swing. This series is focusing on Genesis 12-50 and we will see the events recorded in Scripture about the lives of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Each one of these patriarchs has many things to teach us. They have good times and bad times. They make both godly and ungodly decisions. For each one of them, the grace of God is at work in their lives as they learn to trust in the Triune God of the Bible.

We are currently only part way through the life of Abraham (who still has yet to have his named changed to Abraham). As I have been reflecting on the life of Abraham, there are two glaring truths that seem to be jumping out of the Scriptures and attaching themselves to my heart.

Special Delivery

Written by Judith Dicklich.

You come home and see it! A sticky note on your front door announcing the arrival of a package. Perhaps it is something you ordered or it may be a total surprise, but it says "SPECIAL DELIVERY." For some reason those two little words just make me smile!

Practicing the Way of Jesus in Five Words

Written by Pastor Daniel Fusco.

Last Sunday’s message was one of the most important messages that I have ever shared. It was the message entitled, “Radically Subversive Living” from Matthew 5:38-48. What is interesting is that I have taught that passage before. Not only that, but I have used words like “radical” and “subversive” before. But for some reason, in my own heart, the stakes were high and the message was urgent. The more I pondered it, the more I was astounded by the four main actions in Matthew 5:44. If you were at the service, I made you repeat those four actions (in five words) a few times around. Those words are simply love, bless, do good and pray. Then it dawned on me that you could practice the way of Jesus by living out those five words.
