Now What Do I Do?

Acts 1:8

Anyone who has ever been a parent has faced the same question over and over: now what do I do? As your child grows, how do you handle the things you can't see, the things you can't control, the things that go bump in the night?  No matter where we are in life, what do we do when jobs teeter on the edge, stock prices go down, gas prices go up, the parking meter expires, or we find out the fat free yogurt isn't?  It's not a secret, God has a simple answer to these questions. The best part is that He's excited to share these answers with us this Mother's Day and not only encourage our hard-working moms, but everyone who faces the many challenges life continually throws our way.  Come Sunday and take hold of what God is offering you!

Love Unexpected

Song of Solomon 2

Days after Mother's Day, a crumpled, leftover sign found lying at the bottom of a floral shop window said, "Mother's Day requires only two things: Mother's Day flowers and endless appreciation for everything mom does." Well, the florists have part of it right; most moms would tell you they prefer spending time with their kids over all the expensive flowers and chocolates they could buy. Love is a time-thing, not a "gimmick-thing." All relationships take time and God has invested that time into each one of us. He wants to spend time with us in a wonderfully intimate relationship; He loves to have us spend time "in his shade."  We can continue that relationship by giving God our waking, waiting, and whispering thoughts during the day. Next Wednesday night, we will be spending some of that wonderfully refreshing time with Him as we consider Song of Solomon 2.

"He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord

require of you but to do justly, to love mercy,

and to walk humbly with your God?"

Micah 6:8

REMEMBER WHAT IT WAS LIKE WHEN YOU RECEIVED JESUS?

Remember when you made a commitment to trust Jesus with your life? This decision was likely followed by a time of peace and satisfaction, yet you might have been confused about what came next. Oftentimes, people who receive Jesus are left standing by themselves, without any idea of what their new life in Christ really means.

As the Crossroads family, we want to walk beside our new believers as they grasp the amazing relationship they have just entered into. All of us have a great opportunity to participate in the process of welcoming our new brothers and sisters in Christ, and we don't have to be a Bible scholar to be involved! If this sounds interesting to you, we want you to join us at a catered lunch in our Activity Center Gym on Sunday, May 18 following our second service. We will share ways you can be part of this life-changing time in people's lives. They need you, and we need you! For more information and to sign up, stop by the Information kiosk, call Sheryl in the Church Office at (360) 256-9711, or email sdoty@crossroadschurch.net.
